Another
genetics issue that dictates the work of the plant breeder will be if the
trait is controlled by
dominant alleles,
recessive alleles or alleles with a lack of dominance.
The plant breeder will worry about how this impacts the establishment of a true breeding
line (a line that when selfed produces only offspring like the parents). Maintaining purity in production will also be influenced by these factors.
