Allergenicity - General Conclusion

Food allergies can involve serious reactions, and affect a significant number of consumers. To avoid any reaction, it is important for consumers to be aware of, and avoid, the foods that induce the allergic reaction. However, it is also important for manufacturers to be aware of processing practices that could result in residues of allergenic foods in other products. Furthermore, the industry should provide consumers with the necessary information, enabling susceptible consumers to avoid allergenic foods.
