Summary

In this eLesson we explored a real plant breeding research scenario (case) where you will fit a Linear Mixed Model to a data set collected from an augmented design. We also referred to two additional resources that you will find useful to review the theory and concept of Augmented Design. We then touched upon critical elements of a Linear Mixed Model viz. the Fixed Effects and the Random Effects and how Linear Mixed Modeling plays a role in the research scenario depicted in this lesson. Finally, we took a slight diversion and looked at an additional experimental dataset from Dr. Jennifer Kling which will help us better understand the perspective of an analyst in fitting the data in the next eLessons in this series.
